ARTIST STATEMENT
I love the immediacy and clarity of both watercolours and acrylic.
Working with watercolours allows me to explore a variety of local still life pieces that evoke an admiration for the natural beauty all around us.
Through the acrylic medium I tend to explore more thematic concerns that reflect our society and our/my personal human condition.
As a result my works range from the representational to the semi-abstract to the surreal.
However, no matter what the subject or technique, there is always the pursuit of truth and beauty.
Raymond Alexander is a Visual Arts Teacher and holds a B.A. in both Visual Arts and Literatures in English.
